COME MEET ME- MoCCA Fest NYC

MY fellow amazing cartoonists and I will be exhibiting and selling our stuff at MoCCA (including an AMAZING anthology of our work). Come meet me, say hi, chat about Freddie Mercury (or David Bowie, or Jeff Buckley, etc.), perhaps buy a comic or two.

That middle one is a comic about FREDDIE MERCURY. Come on!!!

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running*

Long ago I posted a comic about my running experiences/feelings. I promised to eventually post a proper scan (vs a photo), and now here it is:

This was done while I was doing the Couch-to-5k program (which you can find online if you want to try it out yourself!), which I have completed now. Moving on to a 10k over the summer hopefully!

These Are the Days of Our Lives

I'm so terribly sorry there haven't been updates. School, as always, has managed to sweep me away from the world. But wait! The summer is not far away and I plan to work like a fiend through the summer. In fact, I'll set deadlines so that you know there will be something awaiting your eyes, dear viewer. For now, I'll scan some of the pages of the past semester and this semester and upload it slowly to tide you over until the summer.

Did I also mention my friends and I will be exhibiting at MoCCA in NYC and TCAF (Toronto Comic Arts Festival), under "Coffee Spoons Comics" (Table E12 at MoCCA---stay tuned for TCAF!).

In one of my classes we were supposed to choose an artist to focus on and make comics about them. Naturally, I chose Freddie Mercury. Here's one of the pages from that:

This assignment was "location as character" so I chose the bedroom to tell the story of Freddie's illness and eventual death. Click to go to Flickr and get a larger image!

Quick update---forgot to add

I forgot to mention last post that a group of my friends and I have secured a table at Mocca where we will be showing off new mini-comics, and a small anthology of our work! We're going to strive to get a half table for TCAF, so keep your fingers crossed!

Quick image update---will explain later.

Will redo this post later, but just wanted to get these images up right now so people can see that I'm actually making comics this year (finally done with fine arts foundation year--fun but ready to move on).
Autiobio one-page comic done for my Storytelling class.

One page with the characters that I created/made model sheets of below.

The top image is my spoof of an Alex Toth (AMAZING artist) page, with a copy of the original below. I'll go more in depth when I re-do this post. The rest of the images are personal work.

Huge page about running. 18"x24"

Will post with proper scans and text soon, but still feel free to comment if you want to :)

MORE

More sketchbook stuff to stall you as I begin a new project today. Yipee!

More class work:

ALMOST FREE

Hello dear readers!
I have much to post because I had to build a website recently with my artwork (in class, it's not actually online, but I'm working on it!). So, I have a lot of sketchbook photos and some new art, though I'll disperse it into a couple of posts.
The semester is almost over. My weekend includes Saturday, Sunday and Monday (where I'll be finishing up some painitng for class, but that'll be a breeze compared to the work load I'm used to doing) and then Tuesday I have a final painting critique until 3, then a flight to catch back home.
I have 2 1/2 weeks of break where I plan to work on some comics! Hurrah!

I'll have more later!
